Among the many things that Detroit is famous for - two stand out - the auto industry and Motown. Tomorrow they come together for a most prestigious event - The ITS World Congress. What a treat the attendees from all over the world will have at their Gala - live performances from The Contours, Jr Walkers Allstar Band, Miracles Memories and The Ladeez. October 10, 2014 - Motown Idol
Motown Idol is a singing competition executed in conjunction with our 50 Years of Motown concert. An open, karaoke style audition will be held October 4, 2014 at the Village Mall. The top 12 semi-finalists will audition on Friday, October 10, 2014 at the Heron Supper Club for The Contours.
The Contours will select 3 finalists to compete the following night at the concert. Each finalist will then sing a verse of Heard it Through the Grapevine accompanied by the orchestra. The audience will vote at intermission and the accounting firm of Daughhetee & Parks will total the ballots and announce the winner.
The winner will sing live on stage backed by The Contours and the DSO! Simply contact the Danville Symphony Orchestra to request an audition packet.
October 11, 2014 w/The Danville Symphony
The Contours along with the DSO present 50 Years of Motown. This concert is jam-packed with dazzling high-energy choreography, impeccable harmonies and those timeless Motown grooves that everyone knows and loves. Added to that is lush orchestration to perfectly compliment some of the greatest and most enduring popular music of the 20th century.
